    More Information

In this body of work, Swartz uses materials such as paper-thin fiberglass and fine fibers, which are only intermittently visible and extremely lightweight. Inside the houses there are organic materials such as bone and feathers. These components act as conductors for elements in the room such as light and air. The viewer experiences the transformation of these incorporeal forces into something tangible. An air current becomes the animator of an object. Light assumes form as shadows on the wall. The physical material brings the immaterial into focus.
