    Jaune Quick-to-See Smith is a Salish and Kootenai artist who has created abstract paintings and prints since the 1970s. Smith’s work is known to combine appropriated imagery from slogans and signage, along with art historical context and personal narratives to engage sociopolitical commentary in the frameworkof an intimate visual language.
