Join Counter-Landscapes: Performative Actions from the 1970s – Now artists Saskia Jordá and Beth Ames Swartz for a unique discussion about their individual art practices and influences. 

 About Saskia Jordá
SaskiaJordáis an interdisciplinary artist working on site-specific installations,soft sculptures, performance, and drawings. Her workreferencesthe relationship between body, space, cultural identity, and mapping a sense of place. Through an exploration of line, she merges craft and its relationship to the body, with the language of cartography.  

 About Beth Ames Swartz
Beth Ames Swartz was born in New York City, where she was raised by the guiding principles of mitzvah (Hebrew world for good deed) and culture. After attending high school for music and art, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca and a Master of Arts from New York University in 1959. That same year she moved with her then-husband to Arizona, where she has remained on and off ever since. Over her sixty-year career her art practice has embodied the belief that by healing ourselves, we can heal the world. She is, as art historian and critic Donald Kuspit has said, a “postmodern spiritualist.”i
