I’m Sorry But It’s Hard to Imagine

May 20 - September 10, 2017

Description

Inspired by the spirit of the Fluxus movement, this exhibition experiments with shaping new experiences by provoking unexpected connections between artworks and embracing vulnerability through chance. The juxtaposition of works from the SMoCA collection with one of Nam June Paik’s iconic TV sculptures provides new contexts for interaction and conversation.

The provocative relationships between the artworks are intended to spark dialogue and inspire curiosity. As the viewer, your interpretations and experiences are an essential component to the success of the exhibition. The parallels and connections that you draw between the works will drive your perception.

Organized by the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
