SMoCA’s Young@Art Gallery is dedicated to the professional display of K—12 student artwork, organized and curated by SMoCA’s education department. The Young@Art Gallery presents three to four exhibitions each year, including an annual summer exhibition that features the work created by high school students involved in SMoCA’s year-long Visions program.
The artwork shown in the Young@Art Gallery is typically created in close collaboration with the Museum and local schools. Exhibitions are sometimes planned in conjunction with SMoCA exhibitions. Examples of this include architectural-themed shows featuring the work of elementary school children in the Vitruvius Program during SMoCA’s series of exhibitions about renowned architect Paolo Soleri. In other exhibitions, the Young@Art Gallery highlights exciting and interesting art experiences offered by SMoCA, local schools, community organizations and the larger community.
