Admission

Timed-admissions are required for entry to SMoCA. Speed up your admission process by booking online and save $3. Timed-admission reservations are still required during pay-what-you-wish periods.

Non-members: $13 online, $16 walk-up.

Students, seniors (65+), veterans, active duty-military, and teachers: $10 online, $13 walk-up.

Free admission for the following:

  • 18 years and younger (with valid ID)
  • ONE Members and guest pass holders
  • Active members in the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) program

You can reserve tickets online, in person, by email at [email protected], or by phone at 480-874-4666.

Pay-what-you-wish on Thursdays and every second Saturday of the month. Pay-what-you-wish tickets can still be reserved in advance.

Groups of seven (7) or more must reserve a time before visiting the Museum. To find out more information, or to schedule time for your group, please visit our information page here.

Due to capacity restrictions, the Museum reserves the right to refuse groups that have not scheduled a time for their visit.

Driving Directions

Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is located at 7374 E 2nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

North – From North Scottsdale: Take Scottsdale Road south, turn left on Second Street, turn left on Wells Fargo Avenue.

South – From the Red Mountain Freeway (202): Take exit 7 for Scottsdale Road north 3.5 miles, turn right on Second Street, turn left on Wells Fargo Avenue.

East – From the Pima Freeway (101): Take exit 47 for Indian School Road west 2 miles, turn left on Drinkwater Boulevard, turn right on Second Street, turn right on Wells Fargo Avenue.

West – From Phoenix: Take Indian School Road east, turn right on Scottsdale Road, turn left on Second Street, turn left on Wells Fargo Avenue.


 

Parking

Convenient, free parking is available at the following locations. See the next section, below, for details on ADA-accessible parking.

Civic Center Lot and Garage – 3888 N Wells Fargo Ave
Directions to SMoCA: Use the passageway directly east of the garage and north of SMoCA to travel east toward Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Then turn south and enter SMoCA via the main, east-facing doors.

OR: Use the passageway just south of AZ/88, traveling east past the restaurant and then south, past Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts to SMoCA’s main, east-facing doors.

Civic Center Library Garage – 3803 N Drinkwater Blvd
Directions to SMoCA: The northwest corner of the middle (second) level of the garage opens directly to Scottsdale Civic Center. Travel west through Scottsdale Civic Center, over the Drinkwater Boulevard overpass, past Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, and then south, along the west side of the Center, to reach SMoCA and enter the Museum from the main, east-facing doors.

OR: Use the ramp from the middle (second) level of the Library Garage to access the sidewalk along Drinkwater Boulevard. Use the crosswalks at the intersection of Drinkwater Boulevard and 2nd Street to cross both roads and approach SMoCA from the south, passing Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Turn north between the Center and SMoCA to enter the Museum from the main, east-facing doors.

If parked on the bottom (first) level or top (third) level of the Drinkwater Boulevard Garage, use the elevator located on the east side of the garage to access the middle (second) level and follow either of the directions above. 

Old Town Parking Corral – 3806 N Brown Ave
Directions to SMoCA: Walk south down Brown Avenue, east along 2nd Street just south of SMoCA, and finally north between SMoCA and the Center to enter via the east-facing doors. 

Pepperwood Lot – 7319 E 1st Ave
Directions to SMoCA: There are walkways between this parking lot and Scottsdale Civic Center at various points along the south side of the parking lot. Once within the Civic Center grounds, travel south past Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and enter SMoCA via the east-facing doors.

 

ADA-Accessible Parking

Details below for various ADA-accessible parking spaces near SMoCA. For directions to SMoCA from each parking area, see the section above.

Civic Center Garage – 3888 N Wells Fargo Ave (no elevators in this garage)

  • South entrance: 1 ADA-accessible parking spot 
  • South exit: 6 ADA-accessible parking spots 
  • North end: 8 ADA-accessible parking spots.
  • Parking lot west of garage: 5 ADA-accessible parking spots 

Civic Center Library Garage – 3803 N Drinkwater Blvd (access to crosswalk from middle level)

  • Middle (second) level: 4 ADA-accessible parking spots at the north end. Ramp from this level to the crosswalk. 
  • Top (third) level: 0 ADA-accessible parking spots, but elevator is located on the east side of the garage to access middle level. 
  • Bottom (first) level: 8 ADA-accessible parking spots at the north end, but not located near elevator, which is needed to access middle level.

Old Town Parking Corral – 3806 N Brown Ave (access to Scottsdale Arts Campus from top level, via 2nd Street)

  • Top level: 9 ADA-accessible parking spots
  • Lower level: 0 ADA-accessible parking spots

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts – 7380 E 2nd St

  • Circle Drive just south of the Center: 4 ADA-accessible parking spots

 

Public Transportation

Both the Scottsdale Trolley System and Valley Metro have routes near the Scottsdale Arts campus.

Valley Metro – Take the Indian School route to Scottsdale Road or Drinkwater Boulevard, then walk south toward Scottsdale Civic Center. Or take the Scottsdale Road / Rural Road route to 2nd Street, then walk east toward Scottsdale Civic Center.

Scottsdale Trolley System (free) – Take the 68CM (68th Street/Camelback) route or the MLHD (Miller Hayden) route to Indian School Road, which is then a short walk south to Scottsdale Civic Center.
